High School Gym Floor Replacement and Stage Floor Sand/finish All prospective bidders must submit a proposal for all three bid opportunities and attend a mandatory pre-bid meeting. Bid #1: New Gymnasium Floor A. Install Hardwood Floor System including, but not limited to the following: a. 3/8 " Neoprene Pads b. (2) Two Layer 1/2 " Plywood c. 25/32" thick by 2 1/4 " wide Maple, graded #2 and better. Hardwood to be sanded smooth, and sealed with "Hillyard Trophy H2O Gym Floor Finish". See Part 4 below for description of finish application and number of coats. d. Stripe Game Lines to include IHSA regulation Basketball Court. Provide dimensioned diagram to Owner before starting striping work. Provide limited secondary linework for practice courts in a way that does not interfere with clarity of primary striping. e. Paint artwork to Include word "Warriors" on the end Courts, word "Steeleville" and state logo on the Side courts. f. Paint artwork to Include 3 color Warrior Logo in the Center Circle g. Stain the 3-point area in color of sample approved by the Owner. h. The gym floor is 33 meters x 28 meters in size. i. Owner to review and approve all paint and stain colors prior to starting. Contractors are responsible for visiting the site, and familiarizing themselves with any and all requirements for this work within the site conditions. B. All work (sand, game line painting, finish, etc.) to be performed by sole contractor awarded the contract. No Subcontractors are anticipated or acceptable. D. Contractor to isolate work areas from other portions of school to prevent dust, fumes, etc., from interfering with ongoing use of adjacent building areas. This may include air distribution ducts, doorways, plenum ceilings, etc. E. Contractor to be MFMA (Maple Flooring Manufacturers Association) member in good standing w/ Accredited employees working at this project site. F. Contractor shall have at least 10 years of experience in gym floor refinishing. Provide five examples of projects and references of similar projects completed within the past five years with the bid. G. Flooring contractor will coordinate their work with a bleacher contractor retained by the District under separate contract. Bleachers will be reduced by one row and reinstalled. They will not be removed from the gym.
