Installing New Concrete or New Asphalt Sidewalk The Village of Burk's Falls is seeking submissions from qualified contractors to Remove and Replace sidewalks. Removal of existing asphalt sidewalk (Huston Street) Preparation of Granular A base if required. Placement of concrete sidewalk Optional Placement of asphalt sidewalk instead of concrete sidewalk. Private Entrances - The contractor will be responsible for ensuring private entrances affected by the scope of work within this Contract are restored to a reasonable gradient and repaired with granular or asphalt as required. The work shall be performed as per Ontario Provincial Standard Specifications (OPSS) and Ontario Provincial Standard Drawings (OPSD) that are applicable. The sidewalk will be approximately 204 meters long by 1.5 meters wide. The removal of existing asphalt sidewalk and prepare the surface for new sidewalk may include but not limited to removal of tree/shrubs, soil and adding granular 'A' to the surface. The contractor will also be responsible in landscaping areas affected by the installation such as but not limited to sidewalk edging, driveways, and entrances such as walkways.
