Reference Number 0000289774 Question Acceptance Deadline 2025/04/24 03:00:00 PM EDT Brock University is developing the Clean Agriculture for Sustainable Production (CASP) Research Farm Field Infrastructure: a state-of-the-art facility dedicated to advancing sustainable agricultural practices. Located at 2833 Merrittville Highway, Thorold, Ontario, the CASP complex will integrate cutting-edge research spaces with specialized agricultural infrastructure, including greenhouses, screenhouses, outdoor garden plots, aviary, and a 10-acre vineyard. The project will support diverse research initiatives, promoting innovative approaches to agriculture that align with sustainability goals. The construction of the CASP facility will follow a CCDC2 project delivery model. Key elements include but not limited to (Please refer to all tender documents for full scope of work required): Main Research Centre: Completed per A+S+M&E consultant drawings and specifications. Site Works Includes civil design completed per A+S+M&E consultant drawings and specifications. Header House: Shell build based on outline drawings and Specification 13341. Interior - Completed per architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical (A+S+M&E) consultant drawings and specifications. Greenhouses: Shell - build based on outline drawings and Specification Section 13341. Interior - build based on outline drawings and Specification Section 13341. Screenhouses: Six compartments - build based on outline drawings and Specification 13341. Greenhouses and Screenhouses: These components require specialized expertise. The general contractor must engage a greenhouse manufacturer sub-trade to fabricate and install them in accordance with Brock University's general specifications outlined in the tender package. The contractor will coordinate the fit-out installation and commissioning-including underground conduits, sensors, power receptacles, motors, vents, HVAC, screens, and more-with the greenhouse manufacturer sub-trade, adhering to established greenhouse norms and practices while ensuring that the greenhouses and screenhouses meet Brock's operational requirements, including systems such as CO2 delivery, fog machines, LED grow lighting, HVAC, and PPC2 certification, as detailed in the tender specifications. Through careful coordination and high-quality execution, the CASP Research Farm will emerge as a leading-edge research hub, enabling breakthroughs in sustainable agriculture. Brock University invites qualified general contractors to tender for the project, ensuring seamless collaboration between traditional construction activities and specialized efforts for the greenhouse and screenhouse components.
