Maintenance Contract for Structural Repairs of Bridges/structures, Various Locations, Somerset County, New Jersey The intent of this contract is to repair and upgrade structural and non-structural elements of highway bridges and other structures to the original design and/or constructed condition, or to reinforce, rehabilitate, or upgrade said structures to the design standards provided by the Engineer. The work may be of an emergency nature; therefore, the Contractor must have available on short notice, the labor, tools, and equipment necessary to perform the work. The ability to begin work on a job site on twenty-four (24) hours' notice is a material part of this Contract. Sealed bids will be opened and read in public by the Purchasing Agent in the County of Somerset, Administration Building, 20 Grove Street, Somerville, New Jersey 08876, 3 rd Floor, County Commissioner's Meeting Room During the bid opening process, the bidders will be announced as will bid amounts. A bid review providing unit prices will not take place at the openings. Instead, this information will be posted, online. A hard copy of the contract documents can be requested through the Engineering Office at EngineeringDiv@co.somerset.nj.us for a non-refundable fee of $50.00 payable to the Somerset County Treasurer. Bidder shall submit with the bid a certified check, cashier's check or bid bond in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the total price bid, but not in excess of $20,000.00, payable unconditionally to Somerset County Treasurer, along with a Certificate (Consent of Surety) with Power of Attorney for full amount of bid price from a Surety Company authorized to do business in the State of New Jersey and that said Surety will furnish a Performance and Payment Bond in amounts of 100% of successful bidder's contract. All Bid Addenda will be issued online and processed in accordance with N.J.S.A. 40A: 11-23(c)(2). All interested respondents should check online from now through bid opening. It is the sole responsibility of the respondent to be knowledgeable of all addenda related to this procurement. Bidders shall comply with the requirements of N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 and N.J.A.C. 17:27 et seq.
