The Town of Nipawin is seeking proposals from qualified individuals or firms to provide Level 3 Building Inspection services. The selected inspector will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable building codes and regulations as legislated by the Government of Saskatchewan and local municipal bylaws. This building official position is in addition to an existing building official firm that provides and will continue to provide class III services to the Town of Nipawin. Residents or developers will be able to choose their building official when applying for permits. Scope of Work The successful proponent will be responsible for: o Conducting inspections on residential, commercial, and industrial buildings to ensure compliance with the National Building Code of Canada, Saskatchewan Building Code Regulations, and municipal bylaws. o Reviewing building plans and permit applications for compliance with all relevant codes and regulations. o Providing reports and recommendations on structural integrity, fire safety, accessibility, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems. o Advising property owners, contractors, and developers on compliance issues. o Enforcing building codes and issuing violation notices where necessary. o Attending meetings and providing expert advice to municipal planning and development committees. o Maintaining accurate records and documentation related to inspections and code enforcement.
