The scope of work consists of placing paint and thermoplastic pavement markings as selected on various streets, intersections, and school crosswalks throughout the City of Elgin as set forth in the bid documents. All proposals must be accompanied by a Bid Bond, Certified or Cashier's Check or a Bank Draft in an amount equal to at least 5 percent of the bid, payable without condition to the City of Elgin, Illinois, which sum shall be forfeited in case the successful bidder fails to enter into a binding contract and provide a properly executed contract surety bond within 15 days after the date the contract is awarded by the City Council. The right is reserved to reject any or all quotations or to waive technicalities and any informality in any quotation.
