The Project Team is seeking a "Project Consultant" for Professional Wayfinding & Signage Sub-Consulting Services. The Project Consultant will contract directly with HDR to provide services including, but not limited to, design and construction administration services for The Project. The Program Stage is complete, and the Validation Phase is currently underway. UNMC | Nebraska Medicine's mission has always been to lead the world in transforming lives through premier educational programs, innovative research, and extraordinary patient care. Phase I of Project NExT, referred to as Building the Healthiest Nebraska, provides needed campus enhancement to UNMC's research, education, clinical, and community service missions at the main campus in Omaha. The project is to be an instrument to serve the citizens, both patients and families of the state Nebraska, the Metro Omaha areas for medical education, clinical research to solve and make health breakthroughs. UNMC and Nebraska Medicine serve several purposes: the community hospital, a level one trauma center, a national referral center, and an international academic and research institute of excellence. Today's care model and physical environment on our main campus to support these diverse purposes has evolved over the last two decades through incremental modification. Our success, measured by quality, safety, patient experience, growth, and financial performance, has been undeniable. The project includes the replacement of the 70+ year-old Clarkson Hospital Tower and associated patient and visitor parking, as well as the Emergency Department and certain Interventional Radiology spaces located in the Hixson-Lied Center. The hospital will provide the primary quaternary care environment for UNMC | Nebraska Medicine, including clinical care, research in the clinical setng, and medical and allied health education. The final building size, scope and cost will be determined by the Project Team, which includes the Owner. The current conceptual planning estimates the project at 1,100,000 square feet and 380 to 452 patient rooms. See Exhibit 1 for the Executive Summary of the Master Plan.
