Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Jackson, Michigan. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.
The work includes the following partial listing of items with approximate quantities: Installation of new drainage structures and sidewalk reconstruction at the northwest quadrant of the Rosedale Place and Woodbridge Street intersection, and replacement of the sanitary sewer, water main and water services with associated sidewalk reconstruction at both the northwest and northeast quadrants of the High Street at Woodsum Street intersection in the City of Jackson, Jackson County, Michigan. Major bid items include Water Main, 12 inch - 165 Ft, HMA, 13A - 146 Ton, Water Main, Connect New 12 inch to Existing 10 inch - 2 Ea, Storm Manhole, 48 inch dia - 2 Ea, Catch Basin, 24 inch dia - 3 Ea, Sidewalk, Conc, 4 inch - 790 Sft, Water Main Backfill, Class II - 200 Ft, Gate Valve and Box, 12 inch, Modified - 2 Ea. Bidders will be required to meet the City of Jackson's pre-qualification requirements prior to bid opening. Bidders must be prequalified for Watermain (I). The City of Jackson does not discriminate on the basis of race, religion or national origin, color, age, sex, height, weight, marital status, and physical or mental handicap as to: access, availability, employment, or participation in any of its programs and activities. The scope of this work shall include all labor, equipment and materials necessary to complete this project according to the specifications listed in the contract documents. All labor, equipment and materials necessary for completion of the work, but not specifically listed as a pay item, will be deemed to be included in one or more of the pay items listed in the bid sheet. Award A. If the contract is over $50,000, then the City Council will be advised of the bids received and receive staff recommendations on award. Award of contract, if any, will be made to the single lowest responsible bidder for the entire scope of the project. Provided however, the City Council has the authority to reject any and all bids, and to accept or recommend the acceptance of other than the lowest responsive bid when the public interest is served thereby, and such action is in the best interest of the City. B. The City Council reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive minor irregularities and/or technicalities in the bids. Contract Documents require that all work on this project be completed by Work shall be substantially completed and the roadways be designated as "Approved for Traffic" no later than September 26, 2025. The "Approved for Traffic" condition shall be as defined in section 107.21, Approved for Traffic, of the MDOT 2020 Standard Specifications for Construction. Delayed acceptance items shall include punch list items, turf establishment, and removal of soil erosion control items. No other items shall be considered for delayed acceptance unless approved in writing by the Engineer at the time of acceptance of the Contractor's Progress Schedule. Delayed acceptance items shall be completed on or before November 14, 2025. Question Deadline 04/21/2025 at 11:00 AM ET
