Site work and paving for a road / highway in Catawissa, Pennsylvania. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.

Rider Road Full Depth Reclamation and Reconstruction Contract: Perform the following work: Reprofile ditches, full depth reclamation of road surface, add 836 tons of 2A and 300 tons of 2RC and calcium chloride flake (DOWFLAKE EXTRA) to the road at the recommended application rate, install headwalls and endwalls at each existing pipe crossings along with riprap lined ditch. This project is time sensitive and project must be completed by May 20 2025 or a $1,000.00 per day penalty will incure. Placement of 2a and 2rc stone: 2a and 2rc stone will be purchased by the Township (approximately 836 ton 2A and 300 tons of 2rc Catawissa Township will purchase this material) to be Track Mounted Paver placed at the direction of the Township Supervisors, spread and compacted to a 4% crown. Headwalls and Endwalls: Headwall and endwall materials to be furnished and installed by the contractor on the existing cross pipes. (approximately 20 stack blocks per headwall and endwall) R5 Riprap Lined Ditch: R5 riprap will be ditch lined for 260 linft as directed (approximately 165 tons R5 will be purchased by Catawissa Township). Full Depth Reclamation: The FDR will be performed following PA DOT 408 and 447 LOW VOLUME specifications. A Township representative will be onsite during the construction process. The contractor must notify the Township two (2) weeks prior to the start of construction. All material weight slips must be provided to the representative. All Calcium Chloride weights will be confirmed with an onsite bag count. Application process: Complete initial pulverization process pass (1st Pass) check moisture content of soil. The moisture must be +/-2% optimum content. Place 2A 18 ft wide X 1,650 feet long X 4 inch depth along with 2RC as directed to fill road section. Contractor then must apply water to bring mixture up to optimum moisture prior to adding Calcium Chloride Flake . Reshape the rough grade to a 4% crown by bringing the berm material back into the center prior to adding water. The RAP must be 2" minus prior to the addition of the Calcium Chloride Flake. Bid bond in the amount of 10% of the contract is required of all bidders for the contract. Performance bond and payment bond in the amount of 100% of the contract, as well as proof of workers compensation insurance will be required within 20 days of receiving the notice of being awarded the bid. Contractor is required to have 5 years experience with FDR and calcium chloride application. This project is funded by Columbia County Conservation District, Gravel and Low Volume Road (DGLVR) program and Catawissa General Funds. Reimbursement for this project may take up to 60 days after the project is complete. Township reserves the right to reject any all bids at their discretion
