Rock Embankment Contract: Furnish and place approximately 21 Ton Asphalt Pavement; 2,160 Ton R-8 Rock; 28 Ton R-3 Rock Lining; 1,105 SY Geotextile; 135 Ton 2A Subbase; 7,060 SY Compost Blanket; 50 Ea Live Sakes and 1 LS Erosion and Sediment Control. Performance bond and payment bond in the amount of 100% of the contract, as well as proof of worker's compensation insurance will be required from the lowest responsible bidder. Bid Bond in the amount of 10% of the contracts is required of all bidders. All work and material must meet current Pennsylvania Department of Transportation Specifications Form 408 and its Supplements. Proposals must be upon the forms furnished by the Municipality. The Municipality reserves the right to reject any or all proposals. Asphalt Wearing Course 9.5mm Fine Grade Superpave Asphalt Mixture Design, Wearing Course, PG 64S-22, < 0.3 Million ESALS, 9.5 MM FG Mix, SRL-L Furnish and place Asphalt Wearing Course material at 1.5" compacted depth at the shoulder of roadway. Incidental to this item of work is Asphalt Tack Coat in accordance with the Publication 408 Section 460 on existing roadway. Asphalt Binder Course, 19.0 mm Superpave Asphalt Mixture Design, Binder Course, PG 64S-22, < 0.3 million ESALS, 19.0 MM Mix. Furnish and place Asphalt Binder Course at the listed above compacted depth at the shoulder of the roadway. Incidental to this item of work is Asphalt Tack Coat in accordance with the Publication 408 Section 460 on existing roadway. 2A Subbase This work is preparation of subgrade, as specified in Section 210 of the PennDOT 408, and construction of a compacted aggregate subbase to restore the existing roadway shoulder. Furnish, place and compact in accordance with Section 350 of the PennDOT 408 and as directed by the Municipality. Rock R-8, Rock Embankment This work is the construction of a rock embankment in accordance with Section 850 or the current PennDOT Publication 408 Section 850 and Standard Drawings RC-40M Slope Protection, Rock Embankment. The preparation of the area required for placing the geotextile and rock are incidental to the R-8 Rock. This preparation may include, but not be limited to excavating, removal of unsuitable material, backfilling, placing embankment and clearing and grubbing. Incidental to this item of work is the excavation of the Rock Keyway as shown on the attached Plans. R-3, Rock Lining This work is the construction of a rock lining in accordance with Section 850 or the current PennDOT Publication 408 and the Plan Drawings. Geotextile Class 4 Type A This work is furnishing and installing Class 4 Type A Geotextile for the R-8 Rock embankment in accordance with Section 212 of the current PennDOT 408 and Standard Drawings.
