A timeline for the award has not yet been established.** https://www.spartnerships.com/garland-plans-71m-soccer-complex-for-second-tier-professional-sports-club/ The city of Garland will build a $70.9 million soccer complex with plans to lease it over the next two decades to a championship-level soccer team. The project is currently in the design phase. While the construction date has not yet been set, the city anticipates opening the complex by 2027. The facility will house up to eight available soccer fields once completed. These include a “show pitch” with artificial turf, two training fields with hybrid turf and five academy fields split between two artificial and three natural turfs. The layout will also feature two futsal courts and a restroom and concession building. The city will build an on-site multipurpose building covering 28,000 square feet. The building will include team headquarters, physical therapy rooms, training spaces, dining areas, a team store, locker rooms and supplies. Additional space will be dedicated to office space, conference and video rooms and coach areas. The design features a yoga/stretching space, loading and storage areas, a team lounge and a strength and conditioning gym. The project’s vision currently includes plans for a youth soccer academy and potential space for mixed-use development. As part of development, the city will improve and extend nearby roads to accommodate the complex. ----------------------- PER CITY OF GARLAND SPECIFICATIONS RFP - Request for Proposal NO FAXED BIDS! The attached "Owner's Site Exhibit" is conceptual; this project excludes buildings labeled Blocks A, C, & D) Onsite Enhancements include: 30,000+ SF Multipurpose Recreational Facility Academy show pitch field with seating for spectators Seven (7) academy and practice fields Plaza area featuring Futsal courts Various amenities including concessions, restrooms, surface parking, lighting and supporting infrastructure Offsite Improvements include: Reconstruction of Holford Road (approx. 1,500 linear feet, 4-lane divided) from Hwy 190 south to the Spring Creek Forest Nature Preserve Naaman Forest Boulevard connection (approx. 2,100 linear feet, 4-lane divided) linking the existing retail development to the east and the multifamily development to the west of Holford Road Additional infrastructure upgrades including drainage, utilities, lighting, landscaping, and pedestrian-friendly enhancements
