The City of Canandaigua’s Water Treatment Plant, located at 3772 County Road 16 in Canandaigua, NY has a cluster of six skylight domes on the roof of the Pump House. These skylights are leaky, and infiltrating water has caused damaged to the interior of the Pump House. The City is looking to replace the skylights which have reached the end of their service life with equipment hatches (six Babcock Davis equipment hatches or approved similar). The skylights currently function as the point of egress for equipment within the pumphouse; this is the point where staff can have equipment hoisted out for repair/replacement. Although the skylights are leaky; staff needs to maintain an egress point for equipment. The intent of replacement with equipment hatches is to maintain the ability to removal equipment for repair/replacement. Equipment & pump dimensions are provided in attached appendices.
