A summary of the work items is included below: Twelve 8" -10" PVC sanitary sewer main repairs and 24 service lateral connection renewals; 394 LF of 8" -10" sewer main by open cut replacement and three service lateral open cut replacements; 2,293 LF of 8" -10" main rehabilitation with cured-in-place (CIPP) lining, 16 CIPP liner end seals, 29 service reinstatements, and twelve 4" -6" service lateral rehabilitations with CIPP lining; eight service lateral CIPP lining without main lining; 989 LF of 8" -10" sanitary sewer mainline replacement by pipe bursting method and 13 service lateral reconnections; miscellaneous manhole improvements including three manholes needing joint and connection sealings, one invert/bench replacement, and one invert and drop cleaning; 906 LF for heavy main line cleaning and CCTV inspection; raising 44 manhole frame and covers; and one manhole replacement. The work is almost entirely in sub basin LS6 in Guntersville, Alabama. A cashier's check or bid bond payable to the Guntersville Water & Sewer Board, in an amount not less than five (5) percent of the amount of the Bid, but in no event more than $10,000, must accompany the bidder's proposal. Performance and Payment Bonds and evidence of insurance required in the bid documents will be required at the signing of the Contract. Bids must be submitted on proposal forms furnished by the Engineer. All bidders bidding in amounts exceeding that established by the state licensing board for general contractors must be licensed under the appropriate/applicable provisions of state law and must show evidence of license before bidding, or the Bid will not be received or considered by the Engineer; the bidder shall show such evidence by clearly displaying his or her current license number on the outside of the sealed envelope in which the proposal is delivered. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive technical errors if, in the Owner's judgment, the best interest of the Owner will thereby be promoted. The work of constructing the project will be let under one Contract if an award should be made, and the Owner reserves the right to select the Bid considered by the Owner to be in the Owner's best interest.
