Renovation of a mixed-use development in Fairbanks, Alaska. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

1. Re-coating maple wooden gym floors with oil-based gym finish at schools under the heading locations per attached specifications for recoating maple gym floors. The contractor will confirm the size of the areas to be refinished. A re-coat consists of screening the floor and applying one coat of oil-based gym finish to the manufacturer-recommended application. We assume lights and heat to be operational. Air handling systems should be able to be turned on and off during recoat all tape and tape adhesive residue should be removed by others. 2. Screening: The contractor shall perform a light sanding of the existing maple gym floor using a floor machine equipped with a screening screen. This process will remove minor surface imperfections and prepare the floor for the application of the new finish. The grit size of the screening screen shall be the manufacturer's recommendation. 3. Post-Job Cleanup and Waste Disposal: The contractor shall be responsible for cleaning the work area upon completion of the recoating process. This includes the removal and lawful disposal of all waste, debris, screening dust, and used materials. All affected surfaces must be left clean and ready for use by District personnel. The Buyer will not provide waste disposal containers or haul-off services. 4. Dust Containment Measures: The contractor shall utilize appropriate dust control procedures to minimize airborne particulates and contamination of adjacent areas. This includes, but is not limited to, the use of tack cloths, floor vacuums with HEPA filters, and dust barriers as needed. Dust shall not be allowed to enter HVAC systems, hallways, or adjacent classrooms.
