Renovation of an educational facility in Seattle, Washington. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
Miller Hall Technology Hub The project includes the following work: Renovation of 4th floor tech hub suite to modernize and update IT, electrical systems, finishes and furnishings. Renovation of rooms 423, 423B,423C,423D, 424 (Lab), 424A, 424B, 424C, including paint, carpet, ceiling tiles, and new LED lighting throughout. Renovations of 424 Lab Space to accommodate group and Master Exam testing, optimize flex/hybrid teaching opportunity, capacity for 22 occupants, improve acoustics of lab and adjacent offices, as well as privacy/supervision components. Power and data upgrades with strategic placement of power access points to support modern equipment and to provide convenience to students. Space reconfiguration to include station for equipment checkout, technology coaching, collaboration/gathering space, quiet study, printing and equipment use, and media recording/production space that will require advanced technology and acoustic treatment. Flexible furniture to allow utilization of space for various purposes and new interactions, ADA compliant features that promote diverse use and inclusivity. UW branding throughout with emphasis on storefront entry that is visible and well-lit and exploration of an improved entry path from the stairs. Bid Guarantee: A surety company bid bond on a form acceptable to Owner, a cashiers check or a certified check payable to the order of University of Washington, or cash, shall accompany each bid in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the Base Bid. No bidder may withdraw its bid after the hour set for the opening thereof, unless the award of the contract is delayed for a period exceeding 60 days. Minority Business Enterprise (MBE): More than 50% owned and controlled by at least one person. The University of Washington welcomes the participation of all BEE, irrespective of gross revenues, including those that are self-designated and those that are state (OMWBE) certified. Participation may be on a direct basis in response to this invitation to bid, or as a subcontractor or supplier. Womens Business Enterprise (WBE): More than 50% owned and controlled by one or more women. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive as an informality any irregularities in the bids received.
