Scope of Work: The intent of this project is to install the base for a future hard surfaced road to serve the future Law Enforcement facilities. In addition, water service lines shall be installed as shown on the drawings. A building pad for the future Maintenance Shop shall be built. Grand Lake Law Enforcement Center . All bids must be accompanied by bid security equal to five percent(5%) of the sum of thebase bid and all alternates, and must be in theform of a certified checkor cashier's check drawnon a bank insured bythe FDIC, or a Bid BondForm contained in contract documents, writtenby a surety companylicensed to do businessin Louisiana with a A.M.Best Rating of "A" orbetter, countersigned bya person who is undercontract with the suretycompany or bond insurer as a licensed agentin this state and who isresiding in this state, andthat it is listed thereon asapproved for an amountequal to or greater thanthe amount for which itobligates itself in thisinstrument, all in accordance with LSA--R.S.38:2218. No Bid Bond indicatingan obligation of less thanfive percent (5%) by anymethod is acceptable. The successful biddershall be required to furnish a Performance andPayment Bond writtenby a company licensedto do business in Louisiana, in an amount equalto 100% of the Contractamount, written by asurety company licensedto do business in Louisiana with a A.M. BestRating of "A" or better, allin accordance with LSAR.S. 38:2219. The bondshall be countersignedby a person who is undercontract with the suretycompany or bond issueras an insurance agent inthis State, and who is residing in this State. Bids shall be accepted only from contractorswho are licensed underLA--R.S. 37:2150-2163for the classification of"Building Construction".No bid may be withdrawnfor a period of forty-five(45) days after receiptof bids, except under theprovisions of LA--R.S.38:2214. The Owner reservesthe right to reject any andall bids for just cause.In accordance with LA- -R.S. 38:2212(A)(1)(b),the provisions and requirements of this Section, those stated in theadvertisement for bids,and those required onthe Bid Form shall notbe considered as informalities and shall notbe waived by any publicentity.
