Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Erda, Utah. Working plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.

Tooele County Bates Canyon Road Street Improvements Project Question Deadline 04/14/2025 at 11:30 PM MT Deadline to submit Questions electronically. The contract award for this solicitation will not be posted online. PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The west end of the Project is located at property line of the new Jr. High School and goes east on the south side of the road and connects into Cambridge Way. These improvements are approximately 1260 Lineal Feet. On the north side of Bates Canyon Road from the high School to the existing road improvements is approximately 470 Lineal. Also included is the paint striping, pavement markings and re-grading the shoulders. Drainage swales will also be graded on both sides to provide positive drainage. Utility relocation and adjustment of utility boxes rims to new finish grade, fence removal and new fence construction, sign relocation if required and new sign placement are also included. The following is a brief summary of some of the related tasks: 1) Scheduling of work shall be approved by the County prior to beginning work on any portions of the project. 2) The contractor shall submit a "Traffic Control Plan" for approval prior to beginning work. The traffic control plan shall be in conformance with the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD). The contractor shall furnish, place, and maintain all traffic control signs and devices. Payment for all traffic control measures shall be included in the contract price for the item of "Traffic Control". At no time will more than one lane be closed to traffic. The contractor shall pave one lane at a time and then keep that lane closed until Contractor determines the conditions of the new asphalt concrete is acceptable for opening. 3) All property owners affected by the construction shall be notified one day in advance of the beginning of construction. Suitable tow away signs will be properly posted 24 hours prior to the surfacing. Should the work not occur on the specified day, new notifications shall be distributed. 4) The roadway will be excavated to sub-grade with excess material being properly disposed of, sub-grade will be graded and shaped to proper crown and profile and then compacted, soft sub-grade areas will be stabilized, additional Granular Backfill Borrow material will be provided and combined with the pulverized asphalt and untreated base course material to be placed, shaped and compacted to line and grade as select borrow for the new roadway embankment for both Pole Canyon Road and Center Street. Bates Canyon Road Granular Borrow to be 7-Inches thick. The untreated base course section will be 8-Inches thick on Bates Canyon Road that material will be graded to new design profile and compacted, and the surface asphalt will 3-inches for Bates Canyon Road of BSC asphalt material PG 64-28 will then be placed and compacted as the finished surface. Any disturbed or damaged or relocated Accesses will need to be repaired and restored. Also included is new signage and paint striping. On the south side of the road from Cambridge Way to the new Jr. High School curb and gutter with 36" RCP pipe will be installed for approximately 1700 Linear Feet. Provide proper drainage away from the new asphalt as dictated by the existing shoulder conditions and then parallel with the roadway in order to properly drain. Some drainage piping is required in an east/west and north/south direction under Bates Canyon Road with both 15 and 36-Inch Piping, with 1 flared end sections (15 -Inch) and multiple Storm Drain Catch and Cleanout Box. 5) Any areas of soft sub-grade which are unable to adequately support the future conditions as determined by the Owner will be removed by the Contractor and replaced per Bid Item #7 prior to the placement of the untreated base course and asphalt. 6) Imported untreated base course material will be properly placed, graded and compacted along the shoulders of the road. The material will be graded at a 2% slope away from the new edge of asphalt for the 3-foot shoulder, then slope away at a 3 to 1 slope for at least 3-feet or as needed to match existing grade. 7) The drainage along the roadways shall be graded to provide positive drainage to the west and for the most part to the south towards the new Jr. High. 8) Any existing property access shall be adequately restored to the property owner's satisfaction. 9) Stripe and Pavement Markings are to provided and properly installed per Design Sheet C-203 and per Manufacturers Recommendations. 10) Signage will be installed per the MUTCD. 11) This project must be completed 120 Calendar Days following the Notice to Proceed.
