Work includes construction of Midwest Guardrail System. Major work includes, but is not limited to: the construction two cantilever soldier pile retaining walls with timber lagging, Midwest guardrail system with terminal end systems, asphalt concrete dike, asphalt pavement repair and erosion control & revegetation. The two walls will be continuous, but have been designed separately due to differing funding sources. The first retaining wall at post mile 0.47 is 46 feet long and up to 12 feet tall. The second retaining wall at post mile 0.49 is 74 feet long and up to 8 feet tall.The work to be performed under the Contract Documents requires that the Contractor possess a Class "A" license at the time that this contract is awarded. The bidder must be licensed under the provisions of Chapter 9, Division 3, of the Business and Professions Code of the State of California to do the type of work contemplated in the "contract documents" and must be skilled and regularly engaged in the general class or type of work called for under this contract. Contractor and all listed subcontractors must be registered with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Section 1725.5 of the Labor Code. Cashier's check or certified check, payable to the order of the County of Santa Cruz, of not less ten percent (10%) of the bid submitted, payable to the County of Santa Cruz and signed by the bidder as well as a corporate surety, shall accompany the bid. Bidder's bonds shall be issued by a corporate surety duly admitted and authorized to issue bonds and undertakings by the State of California.
