Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Rolla, Missouri. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.
Project consists of the construction of 13,445 sf sidewalk, 1,657 lf curb and gutter, installation of 1,315 sf cast iron truncated domes. Contractor shall be responsible for, but not limited to: clearing, grading, traffic control, asphalt patching, incidental erosion control and landscaping. The Contractor shall be responsible for compliance with Section 290.250 of the Revised Missouri Statutes pertaining to prevailing wages. All labor used in the construction of this public improvement shall be paid a wage no less than the prevailing hourly rate of wages of work of a similar character in this locality as established by the Department of Labor and Industrial Relations (Federal Wage Rate), or state wage rate, whichever is higher. Contractors and sub-contractors who sign a contract to work on public works project provide a 10-Hour OSHA construction safety program, or similar program approved by the Department of Labor and Industrial Relations, to be completed by their on-site employees within sixty (60) days of beginning work on the construction project. All bids shall be on the proposal form provided and shall be accompanied by submittals and a bid bond issued by an acceptable surety company and payable to the order of the City of Rolla, for not less than five percent (5%) of the total amount of the bid. The City of Rolla hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, businesses owned and controlled by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, religion, creed, sex, age, ancestry, or national origin in consideration for an award." The successful Contractor shall be expected to proceed as expeditiously as possible upon receipt of the NOTICE TO PROCEED and complete the project as specified in Job Special Provisions "E. PROJECT TIME FOR COMPLETION OF WORK". The successful contractor will be required to have a City of Rolla business license. The Contractor shall perform with its own organization contract work amounting to not less than 30 percent of the total original contract price, excluding any specialty items designated by the State. Payment shall be based on actual measured quantities. No 2nd tier subcontracting will be allowed on this project. The project will be awarded to the lowest, responsive, responsible bidder. The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids. All work shall be done in adherence to the City of Rolla Standards and Specifications, and Missouri Standard Specifications for Highway Construction (2024, 4th Ed.). Where these are in conflict, the City of Rolla Standards and Specifications shall be followed. Missouri Standard Specifications for Highway Construction 2024 (4th Ed.), Section 100 specifications shall be followed at all times and override City of Rolla Standards when in conflict. DBE for this project shall be 3% percent. There do not appear to be any utilities that need to be moved in relation to this project. It is the contractor's responsibility to verify the location of all existing utilities.
