Reference Number 0000290389 ONTC undertakes rail infrastructure upgrade and maintenance programs annually in order to provide a safe and reliable train service across Northeastern Ontario and Northwestern Quebec. One of ONTC 's rail maintenance programs is Rail Grinding. This program requires the services of a Pre-Grind Inspection Service, a 24-stone Specialty Grinder and Fire Protection if required. This Rail Grinding program will occur on the rail subdivisions listed below. The estimated total of the program is 120 track miles, or 360 grind miles. The program will focus mainly on curves and areas where new rail was installed. The actual grinding list will be updated daily with the specialty grinder using the Grinding Plan provided by the Service Provider's Pre-Grind Inspection System. In order to mitigate the risk of forest fires, the Services must commence only after October 31, 2025 (or October 31 of any Renewal Term as the case may be) at a date mutually agreed upon between the Service Provider and ONTC. The work shall be completed by December 2025 of that year. Official bid documents must be obtained from www.merx.com and bid submissions must be done through the Merx platform.
