Site work and renovation of a civil project in Lexington, Kentucky. Completed plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project; and for site work for a water / sewer project.

**As of June 23, 2025, this project has not yet been awarded. A timeline for the award has not yet been established.** Question Cut Off Date 4/25/2025 04:00:00 PM (ET) In the early 2000s, an odor control improvements project was completed at Town Branch Wastewater Treatment Plant (TBWWTP). This project included the installation of aluminum covers on the open channels in the grit chamber areas and downstream into the primary clarifier areas. Since the installation of these covers, considerable microbial-induced concrete corrosion has occurred in the channels at the normal water level and above. The intent of the TBWWTP Concrete Channel Repairs Phase 2 is to address this ongoing concrete degradation by rebuilding the concrete surfaces and applying a protective coating on the restored surfaces to inhibit further microbial-induced corrosion. The TBWWTP Concrete Channel Repairs Phase 2 includes labor, materials, tools, equipment, testing, and all other incidental work to complete these concrete repairs. The work is separated into a Base Bid, Additive Alternative No. 1, and Additive Alternative No. 2. Contractor shall review the scope of the Base Bid and Bid Alternatives outlined in the drawings. While not intended to be all-inclusive, following is a list of required tasks: A. Isolate flow from the Primary Clarifiers No. 1-6 influent channels, effluent channels, and tankage as required to perform Work. If upstream gate does not seal adequately, it shall be the Bidder's responsibility to sandbag, install a temporary bulkhead, or otherwise manage leakage. Installation of a bulkhead at the effluent channel will be required for Additive Alternative No. 2. B. Clean and perform surface preparation work in tanks and channels where repairs and coatings are specified. C. Replace reinforcement and complete spot structural repairs where required. D. Rebuild the thickness of the deteriorated concrete with a repair coating/layer. E. Apply a resurfacing coating/layer, top coat, and glaze coat on all concrete surfaces that increases the microbial-induced corrosion resistance of the concrete. F. Complete warranty work for a period of five years. Owner intends to manage plant forward flow with Primary Clarifiers No. 7-12 during the duration of the work on Primary Clarifiers No. 1-6. Contractor shall work as expeditiously as possible to reduce the duration that Primary Clarifiers No. 1-6 are out of service. Owner reserves the right to put any tankage or treatment units back in service with minimal or no notice to Contractor if required due to wet weather or other extenuating circumstances.
