The Operations Department of the Cedar Rapids Community School District requests your proposal for goods and/or services. for the removal of the existing flooring and installation of a new flooring at Johnson ES as requested by the Cedar Rapids Community School District. The Operations Department and/or Board of Directors reserve the right to reject any and all proposals or any part thereof, and to waive informalities and to enter into such contracts or contracts as shall be deemed in the best interest of the Cedar Rapids Community School District, in the County of Linn, State of Iowa. No emailed or faxed responses will be accepted Contractors can schedule a pre bid meeting with the Construction Project Specialist prior to bidding the project. Contractor shall verify measurements and quantities provided with this scope of work, all quantities provided are approximate. Existing flooring will be removed under another contract. Furnish and install approximately 3,160 SF of LVT and 40 SF of Walk Off Carpet Tile. Areas shown in PINK (corridor vestibule) shall receive Walk Off Carpet tile from Mohawk Group, First Step GT315, 989 Obsidian. Areas shown in GREEN shall receive Luxury Vinyl Tile from Mohawk Group, colors should be as follows: Field color - Matuto Plus Stone Series - 915A Frostbite Stone. 5% accent color - Matuto Plus Stone Series - 353A Red Hot Stone 5% accent color - Matuto Plus Stone Series - 252A Outrageous Orange Stone 5% accent color - Matuto Plus Stone Series - 646A Green Grass Stone No accent tile colors shall be placed on stair treads or stage landing, field color only. New Johnsonite #40 black 4 inc vinyl cove base shall be installed in all areas receiving new flooring. Base shall be installed in areas that currently have base. Prepare subsurface to receive new flooring materials by filling in control joins, holes, indentations, etc. with latex cement underlayment compound compatible with flooring adhesives as per manufacturer recommendations. Install flooring and base in accordance with manufacturers instructions. Fit all joints tightly. Roll the floor with a heavy roller to attain full adhesion. Install transition strips where flooring materials change. Protect all school property from damage. Any damage by the contractor shall be reported to the project manager and repairs shall be made immediately at the contractors expense. Perform necessary cleaning at the end of each day to ensure a clean and safe work area. Flooring installation can be performed anytime between July 1, 2025 and August 1, 2025
