Anticipated Award Date is May 13, 2025 at the Board of Education Board Meeting. Asbestos Abatement - Levey Middle School - 25300 W. 9 Mile Road Southfield, Michigan 48033 Surety Bond: All bids shall be accompanied by a bid bond executed by a Michigan based Surety Company, or a cashier's check in the amount of at least 5% of the sum of the proposal payable to the Owner and send to the following no later than the closing date and time. Performance Bond: Successful bidders will be required to furnish a U.S. Treasury Listed Company Performance Bond for bids in excess of $50,000 in the amount of 25% of their bid. The cost of the bond shall be included in each proposal. Payment Bond: The District shall require he successful bidder to furnish a Payment Bond for bids in excess of $50,000 in the amount of 25% of their bid. The cost of the bond shall be included in each proposal. All Proposals shall be accompanied by a sworn and notarized statement disclosing any familial relationship that exists between the School District and/or any employee of the Contractor and any member of the Board of Education or Superintendent of the Southfield Public Schools. All proposals must also include the executed form certifying the Contractor's status as a non "Iran Linked Business" as defined by Michigan Public Act 517 of 2012. Proposals that do not include these statements will not be considered or accepted by the Board of Education. Project Group LMS-1 - "Area 1A Abatement" The first project for abatement at Levey Middle School includes the removal and disposal of all asbestos thermal system insulation materials, including all asbestos straight pipe insulation with associated pipe fittings, all asbestos pipe fitting insulation on fiberglass lines, all flooring materials, including all asbestos floor tile, all non-asbestos floor tile mastic, all non-asbestos carpet, all asbestos cloth HVAC dampener material, all drywall with asbestos mud, all interior door frames with asbestos caulk, all interior windows with asbestos caulk and asbestos glazing, all sinks with asbestos undercoating, all tagged fire doors and all tagged fire door frames identified throughout renovation areas. This project will include, but is not limited to, Area 1A renovation area. These projects at Levey Middle School will involve multiple negative pressure enclosures and regulated areas to remove the asbestos materials using Class I and Class II removal procedures. The project will begin on Monday, July 7, 2025, and will be complete with all abatement activities, including tear down activities, by the end of the work day on Saturday, July 12, 2025. The project schedule allows for a total of six (6) work days (Monday-Saturday) to complete the project. Project Group LMS-2 - "Area 1B Abatement" The second project for abatement at Levey Middle School includes the removal and disposal of all asbestos thermal system insulation materials, including all asbestos straight pipe insulation with associated pipe fittings, all asbestos pipe fitting insulation on fiberglass lines, all flooring materials, including all asbestos floor tile, all non-asbestos floor tile mastic, all non-asbestos carpet, all interior door frames with asbestos caulk, all interior windows with asbestos caulk and asbestos glazing, all sinks with asbestos undercoating, all tagged fire doors and all tagged fire door frames identified throughout renovation areas. This project will include, but is not limited to, Area 1B renovation area. These projects at Levey Middle School will involve multiple negative pressure enclosures and regulated areas to remove the asbestos materials using Class I and Class II removal procedures. The project will begin on Monday, July 7, 2025, and will be complete with all abatement activities, including tear down activities, by the end of the work day on Friday, July 11, 2025. The project schedule allows for a total of five (5) work days(Monday-Friday) to complete the project. Project Group LMS-3 - "Area 2A Abatement" The third project for abatement at Levey Middle School includes the removal and disposal of all asbestos thermal system insulation materials, including all asbestos straight pipe insulation with associated pipe fittings, all asbestos pipe fitting insulation on fiberglass lines, all flooring materials, including all asbestos floor tile, all non-asbestos floor tile mastic, all non-asbestos carpet, all drywall with asbestos mud, all asbestos HVAC dampener material, all wood stage flooring, all interior windows with asbestos caulk and asbestos glazing, all interior door frames with asbestos caulk, all sinks with asbestos undercoating, all tagged fire doors and all tagged fire door frames identified throughout renovation areas. This project will include, but is not limited to, Area 2A renovation area. These projects at Levey Middle School will involve multiple negative pressure enclosures and regulated areas to remove the asbestos materials using Class I and Class II removal procedures. The project will begin on Monday, July 14, 2025, and will be complete with all abatement activities and ready for TEM clearance sampling by the end of the work day on Thursday, July 24, 2025. The project schedule allows for a total of ten (10) work days (Monday-Saturday, MondayThursday) to complete the project, with additional time allotted for tear down activities. Project Group LMS-4 - "Area 2B Abatement" The fourth project for abatement at Levey Middle School includes the removal and disposal of all flooring materials, including all asbestos floor tile, all non-asbestos floor tile mastic, all non-asbestos carpet, all interior door frames with asbestos caulk, all windows with asbestos caulk and asbestos glazing, all sinks with asbestos undercoating, all tagged fire doors and all tagged fire door frames identified throughout renovation areas. This project will include, but is not limited to, Area 2B renovation area. These projects at Levey Middle School will involve multiple negative pressure enclosures and regulated areas to remove the asbestos materials using Class I and Class II removal procedures. The project will begin on Saturday, July 12, 2025, and will be complete with all abatement activities, including tear down activities, by the end of the work day on Tuesday, July 15, 2025. The project schedule allows for a total of three (3) work days (Saturday, Monday-Tuesday) to complete the project. Project Group LMS-5 - "Area 3A Abatement" The fifth project for abatement at Levey Middle School includes the removal and disposal of all flooring materials, including all asbestos floor tile, all non-asbestos floor tile mastic, all non-asbestos carpet, all drywall with asbestos mud, all interior door frames with asbestos caulk, all sinks with asbestos undercoating, all tagged fire doors and all tagged fire door frames identified throughout renovation areas. This project will include, but is not limited to, Area 3A renovation area. These projects at Levey Middle School will involve multiple negative pressure enclosures and regulated areas to remove the asbestos materials using Class I and Class II removal procedures. The project will begin on Friday, July 25, 2025, and will be complete with all abatement activities, including tear down activities, by the end of the work day on Tuesday, July 29, 2025. The project schedule allows for a total of four (4) work days (Friday-Saturday, Monday-Tuesday) to complete the project. Project Group LMS-6 - "Area 3B Abatement" The sixth project for abatement at Levey Middle School includes the removal and disposal of all flooring materials, including all asbestos floor tile, all non-asbestos floor tile mastic, all non-asbestos carpet, all drywall with asbestos mud, all interior door frames with asbestos caulk, all sinks with asbestos undercoating, all tagged fire doors and all tagged fire door frames identified throughout renovation areas. This project will include, but is not limited to, Area 3B renovation area. These projects at Levey Middle School will involve multiple negative pressure enclosures and regulated areas to remove the asbestos materials using Class I and Class II removal procedures. The project will begin on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, and will be complete with all abatement activities, including tear down activities, by the end of the work day on Tuesday, July 22, 2025. The project schedule allows for a total of six (6) work days (WednesdaySaturday, Monday-Tuesday) to complete the project. Project Group LMS-7 - "Area 3C Abatement" The seventh project for abatement at Levey Middle School includes the removal and disposal of all flooring materials, including all asbestos floor tile, all non-asbestos floor tile mastic, all non-asbestos carpet, all drywall with asbestos mud, all interior door frames with asbestos caulk, all sinks with asbestos undercoating, all tagged fire doors and all tagged fire door frames identified throughout renovation areas. This project will include, but is not limited to, Area 3C renovation area. These projects at Levey Middle School will involve multiple negative pressure enclosures and regulated areas to remove the asbestos materials using Class I and Class II removal procedures. The project will begin on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, and will be complete with all abatement activities, including tear down activities, by the end of the work day on Monday, August 4, 2025. The project schedule allows for a total of five (5) work days (WednesdaySaturday, Monday) to complete the project. Project Group LMS-8 - "Gym Floor Abatement" The eighth project for abatement at Levey Middle School includes the removal and disposal of all flooring materials, including all gymnasium wood flooring with asbestos mastic, all asbestos thermal system insulation materials, including all asbestos straight pipe insulation with associated pipe fittings, all asbestos pipe fitting insulation on fiberglass lines, all interior door with asbestos caulk, all interior windows with asbestos caulk and asbestos glazing, tagged fire doors and tagged fire door frames identified throughout renovation areas. This project will include, but is not limited to, the gymnasium area. This project at Levey Middle School will involve a single negative pressure enclosure and multiple regulated areas to remove the asbestos materials using Class I and Class II removal procedures. The project will begin on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, and will be complete with all abatement activities and ready for TEM clearance sampling by the end of the work day on Thursday, August 7, 2025. The project schedule allows for a total of fourteen (14) work days (Wednesday-Saturday, Monday-Saturday, Monday-Thursday) to complete the project, with additional time allotted for tear down activities. Project Group LMS-9 - "Exterior Window System Abatement" The ninth and final project for abatement at Levey Middle School includes the removal and disposal of all exterior window systems with asbestos glazing and asbestos caulk materials. The project will include, but is not limited to, all exterior window systems at the project site. These projects at Levey Middle School will involve multiple regulated areas to remove the asbestos materials using Class II intact removal procedures. The project will begin on Monday, August 4, 2025, and will be complete with all abatement activities, including tear down activities, by the end of the work day on Saturday, August 23, 2025. The project schedule allows for a total of eighteen (18) work days (Monday-Saturday, Monday-Saturday, MondaySaturday) to complete the project.
