Renovations of existing suites 201 and 202, including minor demolition of partitions, new partitions, new ceilings and lighting and floor finishes per construction drawings and specifications. General Information a. The project consists of selective interior renovations to offices on the Second Floor of Tobin Hall; and renovation of office spaces to create IT Rooms on the Second and Fifth Floors. The renovations shall be constructed so as to meet all requirements of the Massachusetts State Building Code, current edition, in addition to all other applicable codes and regulations. b. The renovation building, which will house UMA functions is a 6-story structure, of Construction Classification IB, for Use Group Business. Functional building areas include office space, common space (i.e., building lobby, common corridors, elevator cores, cafeteria/kitchen and public toilets), building supervisory offices, and mechanical/electrical utility areas housing building equipment. New mechanical equipment serving the IT Rooms will be located on wall mounted brackets at grade; and at roof level. c. The structural system for the super-structure is reinforced concrete framing with concrete decking. The sub-structure is "cast-in-place concrete foundations". The building envelope is a pre-cast concrete panels, and clear glazed aluminum windows in punched window openings. The work is estimated to cost $1,276,000.00.
