HHSC PCS is seeking competitive bids to establish contract(s) for Austin State Hospital is seeking as needed forensic psychology services to evaluate referred forensic patients for competency to Stand Trial and to evaluate referred forensic patients regarding risk for future violence. a) Contractor shall maintain Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologist licensed Psychologist in good standing. b) Contractor shall maintain one of the following: a. American Board of Professional Psychology Specialty Certification (ABPP) in forensic psychology or, b. Training consisting of at least 24 hours of specialized forensic training relating to incompetency or insanity evaluations and at least eight hours of continuing education relating to forensic evaluations, completed in the 12 months preceding the appointment. In addition, psychiatrist or psychologist must have completed six hours of required continuing education in courses in forensic psychiatry or psychology, as appropriate, in either of the reporting periods in the 24 months preceding the appointment.
