Backup Control Center Construction Question Deadline 04/18/2025 at 4:00 PM ET Online Portal SCOPE OF WORK 3.1 INTENT The City of Tallahassee requires Services as described in the attachments and is seeking a qualified contractor interested in providing all services, labor, materials, equipment and supplies necessary to provide such products and/or services as outlined in this document and attached technical specifications. Following the COVID pandemic, Electric & Gas staff identified a need for an updated Backup Electric Control Center to support restoration operations following a major storm. This facility will allow for the utility to effectively control the Electric Grid, and house employees should we have a situation again like the COVID pandemic. During the pandemic, Electric utilized camper rentals to accomplish the safekeeping of the employees and to reduce exposure to COVID while being sequestered. We are required to have NERC certified operator controlling our electric grid 24/7. This building will allow us to also allow for bunking during Hurricanes and other disasters that would require us to keep our employees safe and on the job. This building will provide for: a. A 3520 square foot back up control center with bunking for up to 8 people. b. A Kitchenette c. Restrooms d. Storage room e. Covered Patio f. Backup Generation g. Sanitary Septic System The Contractor shall have the capability to perform and complete the services in all respects in accordance with the solicitation documents. The Contractor here by warrants that all services will be performed in a timely and first-class workmanlike manner.
