This description of commodities or contractual services intended for purchase from a single source is posted in accordance with Sections 120.57(3) and 287.057(3), Florida Statutes (F.S.), and will remain posted for a period of at least 15 business days. (what is necessary and unique about the product, services or source; steps taken to confirm unavailability of competition, as appropriate): Century Fire Protection, LLC. uses unique proprietary software and hardware to control their systems and provide the requested services. The Department is currently using the system installed and certified by Century Fire Protection, LLC. at the 15 locations in Miami-Dade County. Continued use of this system to provide the requested services is needed to maintain the compatibility and continuity of the integrated system. Performance and/or Design Requirements (e.g. intended use, function or application, compatibility, requirements; reference to policy, rule, statute or other act of the Legislature, etc., as appropriate): The Florida Department of Health, Miami-Dade CHD has a need to purchase monitoring, alarm, and maintenance services for 15 facility locations in the Miami-Dade area. These services also include burglar and fire alarm monitoring services, parts and equipment, repairs to existing equipment, labor, upgrades to existing equipment and software to meet NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) codes and requirements. In accordance with Chapter 60A-1.045, Florida Administrative Code, the Department requests the authorization to purchase as single source request, monitoring, alarm and maintenance services from Century Fire Protection LLC.
