Prequalification for a General Contractor for Various Retaining Wall Rehabilitation/Replacement Projects scheduled for construction in 2025 and 2026. The City of Hamilton is prequalifying general contractors with the expertise and experience to complete services for various retaining wall rehabilitation/replacement projects scheduled for construction in 2025 and 2026. The RFPQ is to approve Applicants to bid on various future City of Hamilton projects, therefore the scope provided is generalized and may not apply to every project. However, the details below to outline the tasks and duties necessary to complete those Projects. The scope of these projects may include but is not limited to the following: A. Structures I. Rehabilitation of Reinforced Concrete (RC), Reinforced Soil Slope (RSS), and gabion basket retaining walls II. Replacement of steel bin retaining walls with RSS walls III. Replacement or refacing of masonry retaining walls with post and panel systems IV. Repair of rockfall protection mesh V. Manual scaling of exposed rock surfaces and removal of rock debris or vegetation VI. Replacement of concrete masonry walls with RSS block wall systems VII. Realignment and replacement of gabion walls with RSS walls for improved visibility and road widening VIII. Zinc painting of corroded Corrugated Steel Pipe (CSP) culvert outlets and inlets IX. Installation of erosion protection measures along slopes and culvert outlets X. Slope stabilization. XI. Installation of catch basins on new RSS walls XII. Concrete headwalls XIII. Large culvert replacements/rehabilitations XIV. Installation of rodent grates at drain openings B. Roadway I. Road restoration due to retaining wall work II. Streetlight replacement III. Installation/replacement of steel-beam guiderails IV. Pavement markings V. Concrete curb construction VI. Sidewalk replacement VII. Installation of handrails VIII. Adjustment of appurtenances IX. Tree removals and planting C. Project Impacts/Complexity: I. Escarpment closure and detours II. Working within Niagara Escarpment Commission (NEC) and Hamilton Conservation Authority (HCA) regulated areas III. Working on steep road grades and slopes IV.
