Site work, paving and outdoor lighting for a mixed-use development in New York, New York. Completed plans call for site work for a educational facility; road / highway; for outdoor lighting for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.
The Dormitory Authority of the State of New York ("DASNY") has determined that its interest in obtaining the best work at the lowest possible price, preventing favoritism, fraud and corruption, and other considerations such as the impact of delay, the possibility of cost savings advantages and any local history of labor unrest are best met by use of a Project Labor Agreement ("PLA") on this Project. The successful low bidder, as a condition of being awarded this Contract, will be required to execute the PLA described in the Information for Bidders and included in the Contract Documents. See Section 18.0 of the Information for Bidders of the Contract Documents for additional information. All subcontractors of every tier will be required to agree to be bound by the PLA. The scope of work for the Queens College Exterior ADA Upgrades and HAZMAT Abatement project includes, but is not limited to the following: Cutting and removal of curbs, curb ramps, sidewalks, asphalt and/or concrete roadway, road base, painted striping, signage, handrails, grass, and plantings & trees where indicated. Protection of existing trees to remain, erosion control during construction. Shoring at excavation for retaining wall. Regrading, including earth/painted areas, sidewalks, vehicle roads. Asphalt roads, including base courses if required by extent of regrading. Curbs and accessible curb ramps. Accessible sidewalks (including depressed type). Signage designating "ACCESSIBLE" or "NON-ACCESSIBLE" routes. Pavement markings, including striping, traffic flow and accessibility designations. Accessible parking spaces, including striping of access aisles and designation signage. Accessible ramps with handrails; and guardrails where required. Light poles, footings, and electrical power to new LED fixture heads. Cast in place concrete site elements with architectural concrete finish, including cheek walls, benches, ramps, and stairs. Cast in place concrete structural retaining wall and footing, with architectural concrete finish at areas visible above grade. Galvanized chain link site fencing and gate. Grass lawns, screening plants and decorative plantings; site furniture. The estimated cost range is between $5,495,000 and $5,950,000. All individuals who plan to attend pre-bid meetings or bid openings in person will be required to present government-issued picture identification to building security officials and obtain a visitors pass prior to attending the bid opening. Individuals and entities submitting bids in person or by private delivery services should allow sufficient time for processing through building security to assure that bids are received prior to the deadline for submitting bids.
