**As of April 30, 2025, the project was awarded to Bowes Construction Inc., with an awarded amount of $124,813.45.** Primary Work: Approximately 8 SqYd of Asphalt Pavement Removal (4" Nominal Depth), 550 CuYd of Unclassified Excavation, 60 CuYd of Disposal of Excess Material, 290 CuYd of Aggregate Base Course, 140 Ton of Asphalt Base / Surface Course, 9 Ton of Asphalt Binder (PG 64-34), 1 Ton of Emulsified Asphalt Prime Coat, 60 SqYd of Concrete Valley Gutter, 150 Ft of 10' Chain Link Fence, 1 Each of Install Salvaged 20' Cantilever Roll Gate, 0.3 Acre of Seeding and Fertilizing, 140 CuYd of Topsoil (Removed from Stockpile), 1460 SqYd of Mulching, 630 SqYd of Geotextile Separator Fabric, 330 Ft of Remove and Dispose of 10' Chain Link Fence, 1 Each of Remove and Salvage Existing 20' Cantilever Roll Gate, 620 SqYd of Remove and Salvage Existing Gravel Surfacing (6" Nominal Depth), 1 Each of Sanitary Sewer Manhole Adjustment, 1 Each of Sanitary Sewer Cleanout Adjustment, 320 SqYd of Place Salvaged Gravel Surfacing 320 Ft of High Flow Silt Fence, Pavement Marking, and other items of related construction. Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check, cashier's check or draft in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total bid, and drawn on a solvent State or National Bank, or a ten percent (10%) Bid Bond issued by a surety authorized to do business in the State of South Dakota and payable to the City of Brookings, South Dakota. The check or bond will be retained by the City as liquidated damages if the successful bidder refuses or fails to enter into a contract and performance bond in accordance with the bid when notified. All bidders are required to hold all applicable South Dakota tax licenses. Separate Payment and Performance Bonds guaranteeing faithful performance of the Contract and payment of all labor, materials, rentals, etc., will be required for an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the amount of the Contract. All bonds must be issued or co-signed by a licensed resident agent of South Dakota. The Engineer will set the beginning date in a written "Notice to Proceed with Construction". The Contractor shall begin the work within ten (10) days of the date set forth in the written "Notice to Proceed" and shall complete the work within the number of calendar days, working days, or completion date or dates as shown in the Specifications. The right is reserved, as the interest of the City of Brookings, South Dakota, may require, to reject any and all bids, to waive informality in bids received, and to accept or reject any items of any bid, unless such bid is qualified by specific limitation. No bids may be withdrawn after the time set for the opening of bids. Action on the bids will occur within 30 days of the bid opening. The City of Brookings reserves the right to waive irregularities and to reject any and all bids.
