The Town of Norwell, MA invites electronic sealed bids for Norwell Boardwalk Reconstruction Project. The scope of work consists of a 1,500 foot boardwalk replacement (3 sections - approximately 500 feet each). Improvements include, but not limited to: rebuilding wood framework, pile foundation upgrades, mobilizing and de-mobilizing of wood stock as described in the specifications The contract duration is 175 calendar days from the date of the Notice to Proceed. All general bids shall be on a form provided by the Awarding Authority and accompanied by a bid deposit in the form of a certified, cashier's or treasurer's check issued by a responsible bank or trust company made payable to the Town of Norwell or a bid bond, in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the value of the bid. Bid Bonds shall be in a form satisfactory to the Awarding Authority with a surety company that is qualified to do business in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and conditioned upon the faithful performance by the principal of the agreements contained in the bid. The successful general bidder will be required to furnish a Payment Bond the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract sum. Bond shall be obtained from a Surety licensed to do business in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the form shall be satisfactory to the Town of Norwell. The Town of Norwell reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any minor irregularities in the bidding, and to award this contract to other than the low bidder if deemed in the best interest of the Owner. The bidding shall be done in accordance with the by-laws of the Town of Norwell, and the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Prevailing Wage rates do apply.
