Elevator Door Lock Monitoring, Overspeed Valve and Shut Off Valve Project For Public Works Projects, a Bidder Must Be Qualified as a Bidder With the State Public Works Division of the Department of Administration for the Cost Category Required for the Project Question Deadline 04/24/2025 at 12:00 AM PT UNLV is seeking an experienced Contractor for its Door Lock Monitoring Project (system to monitor and prevent automatic operation of the elevator with faulty door contact circuits), with work to be completed before the end of 2025. 1. Scope of Work: o Nevada law requires every existing elevator installed before 2000 must comply with the minimum safety requirements as described in ASME A17.3 2020. NAC 455C.500: Provisions 2.7.5 (restricted opening of hoistway doors) and 3.10.12 (system to monitor and prevent automatic operation of the elevator with faulty door contact circuits) of the ASME A17.3 Safety Code for Existing Elevators and Escalators, 2020 Edition will come into effect on December 31, 2025. Per ASME A17.3 2000, this includes Door Lock Monitoring (DLM). Overspeed valves (OSV) and Shutoff valves (SV). ASME A17.3 governs the following; o Every existing elevator installed before 2000 must comply with the minimum safety requirements elaborated in ASME A17.3 2020. Per Bulletin MCS 2301 dated September 22, 2023, and the revised edition of Nevada Administrative Code (NAC) 455C dated August 22, 2023: o UNLV has 47 elevators that require the installation of Door Lock Monitoring (system to monitor and prevent automatic operation of the elevator with faulty door contact circuits) before the end of 2025 to comply with ASME A17.3. DLM spec o Additionally, per ASME A17.3, UNLV has 37 hydraulic elevators that must be equipped with an over speed valve (OSV - ASME A17.3 4.3.3[b]) and 28 elevators that need shut off valves (SV - ASME A17.1 8.7.3.24/3.19).
