"Work" of this Contract is defined in the Contract Documents consists of limited Interior and Exterior Alterations to the existing Franklin County Airport Terminal. Alterations are to include reconfiguration of the existing toilet in order to make it Accessible, update of all interior finishes, update of exterior wall finishes, and electrical and mechanical upgrades., and other related work as shown on the drawings and/or in the specifications. All bidders must comply with all provisions in law relative to the work covered by this invitation. All bidders must be licensed contractors to perform the type construction herein described as required by Tennessee Code Annotated, Title 62, Chapter 6. All bidders must meet the Franklin County Airport and University of the South Liability Insurance requirements. The Bidder's Name, License Number, Classification and Expiration Date must be placed on the envelope containing the contractor's bid. Each proposal must be accompanied by a bidder's bond on the form obtained in the proposal from a surety company acceptable to Franklin County, or a Cashier's Check or Certified Check made payable to Franklin County Airport, for not less than five percent (5%) of the total amount of the bids. A 100% Contract Bond will be required. All resident inspection will be coordinated by the Engineer. Attention of bidders is particularly called to the requirements as to conditions of employment to be observed and minimum wage rates to be paid under the contract. Franklin County, in accordance with Title IV of the Civil Rights Acts of 1964 (42 U.S.C. 2000d) and 49 CFR, Part 23, Non-Discrimination in Transportation, hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that disadvantaged business enterprises are afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, sex, or national origin in consideration for an award.
