Gwinnett County is soliciting competitive sealed bids from qualified contractors for Removal and Replacement of Epoxy Floors at Various Parks Locations for the Department of Parks and Recreation. Please Note: Ineligible Source List During the period for which a person/firm has been debarred or suspended, or placed on the Gwinnett County ineligible source list, that person/firm shall not submit or cause to be submitted offers, quotes, bids, or proposals, etc. to Gwinnett County, even when automatically or electronically distributed a notification or notified of a solicitation request. Submittals from firms currently on the Gwinnett County ineligible source list will not be considered. Successful contractor(s) will be required to meet insurance requirements. The Insurance Company should be authorized to do business in Georgia by the Georgia Insurance Department and must have an A.M. Best rating of A-7 or higher. Gwinnett County does not discriminate on the basis of disability in the admission or access to its programs or activities. Any requests for reasonable accommodations required by individuals to fully participate in any open meeting, program or activity of Gwinnett County Government should be directed to the ADA Coordinator at the Gwinnett County Justice and Administration Center, 770-822-8165. The written bid documents supersede any verbal or written prior communications between the parties. Award will be made to the contractor submitting the lowest responsive and responsible bid. Gwinnett County reserves the right to reject any or all bids to waive technicalities and to make an award deemed in its best interest. Bids may be split or awarded in entirety. Gwinnett County reserves the option to negotiate terms, conditions and pricing with the lowest responsive, responsible bidder(s) at its discretion. Gwinnett County Department of Parks and Recreation is soliciting competitive sealed bids from qualified contractors for the removal and replacement of epoxy floors at various park locations. The successful contractor shall furnish all labor and materials required to remove and replace epoxy floors at various locations for the Department of Parks and Recreation. II. DESCRIPTION OF WORK 1. Remove existing epoxy floor/ceramic carpet and dispose of all material off County property according Environmental and Protection Agency (EPA) regulations. 2. Check for moisture issues and install moisture membrane if needed. 3. Installation of new epoxy floor/ceramic carpet according to manufacturer's specifications. 4. Remove existing cove base and install new 6" epoxy cove base. 5. Secure work area before and during the project to ensure safety at all times. 6. Clean up all debris and dispose of it according to EPA regulations. The use of products other than those indicated in the materials section must be pre-approved by the Gwinnett County representative. All products must be applied according to the manufacturer's specifications. Any proposed substitutions must be submitted with the bid and must include specifications, colors, warranty, and any other information necessary for evaluation. The County may reject the bid if this information is not provided. III. QUALITY ASSURANCE 1. Manufacturer's Qualifications: Successful contractor must obtain materials from a manufacturer with a minimum of five years verifiable experience providing materials of the type specified. 2. Contractor's Qualifications: Installation must be performed by a manufacturer-certified contractor with skilled mechanics having approximately three years' satisfactory experience in the installation of the type of system specified. IV. STORAGE The successful contractor must store materials in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions, with seals and labels intact and legible. The owner is not responsible for the storage of materials. Materials shall not be stored in areas accessible to the public. V. MATERIALS Successful contractor must submit samples of flooring material to the owner for approval of color and texture before beginning installation. Color should match Sherwin Williams Ceramic Carpet color #319 (Sandpoint) or an approved equivalent. 1. Crack Filler: General Polymers #3580 Crack and Joint Filler or an approved equivalent 2. Moisture Barrier (if needed): General Polymer Moisture Membrane or an approved equivalent 3. Epoxy Resin Glaze: General Polymers #3561 or an approved equivalent 4. Standard System for New Flooring: Ceramic Carpet #400 Quartz Broadcast Flooring System by General Polymers or an approved equivalent. Color should match Sherwin Williams Ceramic Carpet color #319 (Sandpoint) or an approved equivalent. 5.
