Removal and replacement of approximately 520 linear feet of six underground utilities including chilled water supply and return, domestic hot water supply and return, domestic cold water, and fire sprinkler piping connecting four (4) buildings including all associated work inside and outside of the buildings including but not limited to removal, salvage, demolition and replacement of all site and building features as necessary. The project includes all associated temporary environmental controls and maintenance of circulation. Project Location: George Mason University, 4400 University Drive, Fairfax, VA 22030 Residence Halls impacted by the utility demolition and installation will be unoccupied during the summer work window from 19 May 2025 through 04 August 2025. All work requiring closure of the building will occur during this period. All buildings and utility connections shall be operational and suitable for residence prior to 04 August 2025 and 02 August 2026 including all testing and commissioning. Portions of work not completed during the summer window will be rescheduled for the Summer of 2026. Prior to and after the summer work window, always ensure pedestrian egress and fire department access to all buildings. Work Schedule: Work can be performed during the hours of 8:00 am to 6:00 pm Monday through Friday. Approval from Mason's Project Manager is REQUIRED for any work performed outside of these days and hours. Mason requires forty-eight (48) written notification by Contractor and approved by Mason before any work is performed outside of these days and hours. Bidders Questions must be submitted through Masons e-Builder System on or before Wednesday, 23 April 2025 by COB. Responses to questions will be issued by Addendum. Owner reserves the right to respond to any questions received after the date as indicated in the Invitation for Bid.
