Work generally consists of approximately 14,086 square yards of bituminous seal coat to include, but not limited to: - Crack and Joint Cleaning and Filling, Hot Pour - Bituminous Seal Coas - Temporary Traffic Control See Bid Form for exact quantities Site Directions: From the intersection of Chamberlin Drive and Airport Street south along Airport Street approximately 4,500 feet. Bid security shall be provided in the form of a cashier's check or certified check drawn on a state chartered or federally chartered bank, or a certified share draft drawn on a state chartered or federally chartered credit union, or a bid bond of a reputable bonding company authorized to do business in the State of Iowa in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the total amount of the bid. The bid security shall be included in a separate sealed envelope, plainly marked "bid bond". The bid security shall be forfeited as liquidated damages if the successful bidder fails proper execution of the contract documents. The successful bidder must execute performance and payment bonds, each in an amount equal to one hundred (100%) percent of the contract amount to ensure a timely, efficient, and complete performance. The bonds shall be issued from a reputable bonding company authorized to do business in the State of Iowa. Liquidated damages will be assessed the contractor in the amount of five hundred dollars ($500.00) per working day that the work remains uncompleted after the end of the contract period with due allowances for extensions due to conditions beyond the control of the contractor. The work shall be completed as follows: No work will be permitted prior to July 7, 2025 Work shall be substantially completed within 5 working days once commenced. Free time will be allowed between crack and joint filling and the seal coat work.
