Project Furnishing and installation of lightning protection and repairs at multiple WHA federal sites. The Worcester Housing Authority (WHA), the Awarding Authority, invites written quotes from Contractors for the furnishing and installation of Lightning Protection Repairs andCertifications at: WHA's properties 12-5 Pleasant located at 275 Pleasant Street Worcester, MA, 12-6 Wellington Apartments, located at 30 Wellington Street Worcester, MA, 12-8 Lincoln Park Tower, located at 11 Lake Avenue Worcester, MA, 12-9 Murray Avenue Apartments, located at 50 Murray Avenue Worcester, MA, 12-13 Webster Square Tower West, located at 1060 Main Street, 12-15 Webster Square Tower East, located at 1050 Main Street Worcester, MA, and 12-18 Elm Park Tower, located at 425 Pleasant Street. In accordance with the Scope of Work prepared by The Worcester Housing Authority and outlined herein. The Scope of Work outlined in this RFQ is estimated to cost $45,000.00. A 50% Payment Bond is required if the bid is over $25,000.00 The work includes and is not limited to the furnishing and installation of LIGHTNING PROTECTION REPAIRS AND CERTIFICATIONS CONSISTING OF: A. Lightning Protection Repairs: 1. 12-5 Pleasant Tower a) Reattach the lightning protection system to the roof membrane in multiple areas. b) Remove and replace the existing down conductors from the roof access penthouse with class 2 conductors. c) Install additional conductors in all locations in which units have dead ends longer than 8'. d) Resecure and alter multiple down conductors to prevent movement. e) Modify secondary bonding that have grounded metal bodies within 6'. 2. 12-6 Wellington Apartments a) Replace multiple cable to cable connections. b) Install new aluminum conductors and air terminals for the stainless-steel chimney. c) Tie in portions of the mobile railing system that are not in the zone of protection to the existing lightning protection system. 3. 12-8 Lincoln Park Tower a) Replace bonds with new aluminum components in accordance with UL96A. b) Refasten existing conductors at the lower roof. c) Replace (1) air terminal base at the lower roof. d) Bond new mini split units into the lightning protection system where the down conductors are within 6' of the existing conductor. e) Replace (2) protective coverings at the ground level of the down conductors with Schedule 80 1" PVC Conduit. f) Bond the main water line to the building to the lightning protection system. 4. 12-9 Murray Avenue Apartments a) Adhere clips where the adhesive has failed. b) Replace (1) air terminal. c) Connect existing utilities to the lightning protection system (a connection from the existing wall penetration to the water and/or sprinkler). 5. 12-13 Webster Square Tower West a) Resecure all bonding conductors to the antenna rays to the roof. b) Bond railing sections together and tie into the lightning protection system. c) Install air terminals for (2) RTU's. d) Install secondary bonding at the ground level to the down conductors. 6. 12-15 Webster Square Tower East a) Install a new air terminal for (1) RTU. b) Bond (1) mini split into the lightning protection system. c) Install a bond from the sprinkler system to the domestic water system. 7. 12-18 Elm Park Tower a) Add clips as needed where the adhesive has failed.
