The project scope consists of replacing the existing gym air handling unit, a complete renovation to the buildings hot water boiler plant and a complete building systems controls upgrade from pneumatics to a fully functional and complete direct digital control system (DDC). The new gym equipment will consist of a packaged heat pump dedicated outside air unit with energy recovery and backup hot water heating for ventilation, and a heat pump VRF system with indoor wall mounted units for Gymnasium cooling and heating. The dedicated outside air unit will be grade mounted exterior of the gym on new structural supports. The renovation of the hot water boiler plant will consist of removing all existing hot water equipment within the boiler room including two boilers, pumps, tanks and piping. The building controls upgrade will consist of removing all existing pneumatic controls from the building and providing all new direct digital controls including new sensors controllers and valves and front end equipment for a complete and fully functional building management system. The existing electrical service will serve the new equipment being added to the gymnasium.
