Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Akron, Ohio. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.
This project includes specialized work at 4800, plus or minus, locations throughout the City of Akron Water service area on private property and in the public right-of-way divided among (4) four contracts. The work shall include, but not be limited to excavations in pavement, brick, driveways, sidewalks, or tree lawn to expose existing water mains and curb boxes, tapping water mains, installing new copper service lines, curb boxes, house lines and/or disconnecting service lines. The contractor(s) shall be responsible for any and all restoration within the right-of-way and/or private property if necessary. The contractor(s) shall be responsible for coordinating work and gaining access to private property if necessary. The contractor(s) will install new house lines from the curb box into the meter and perform all restoration on private property and in tree lawn where curb box is exposed. The Contractor will be required to coordinate all activities with City of Akron Water Distribution, notify customers of the interruption of their water service and restore the site in a timely manner. Traffic will be maintained as much as possible if necessary. The City of Akron is committed to ensuring that individuals with disabilities are able to fully participate in public programs, services, and activities. All contractors and subcontractors involved with the project will, to the extent practicable, use Ohio products, materials, services, and labor in the implementation of their project. Domestic steel use requirements as specified in Section 153.011 of the Ohio Revised Code apply to this Project. Copies of Section 153.011 of the Ohio Revised Code can be obtained from the Ohio Department of Administrative Services. The Director of Public Service reserves the right to reject any or all bids, and to waive informalities. Bidders must use the prepared forms provided therefore which include compliance with Section 34.03 of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Akron, Ohio regarding public contracts. Additionally, contractor compliance with the equal employment opportunity requirements of Ohio Administrative Code Chapter 123, the Governor's Executive Order of 1972, and Governor's Executive Order 84-9 shall be required Question Deadline 04/22/2025 at 11:00 AM ET
