Berkeley County School District seeks highly qualified roofing contractors for the Sangaree Elementary School Roof Replacement project as outlined in the solicitation package. Roof replacement includes roof deck repairs, insulation system (including taper), and a modified bitumen roof system. Associated sheet metal components and accessories are included Berkeley County School District (BCSD) is the fourth largest school district in the State of South Carolina. The District covers a geographic area of 1,229 square miles. It is one of the fastest growing counties in the state, in terms of population, and is located just north of Charleston, South Carolina. BCSD currently serves a student population of over 40,000 students ranging from pre-school to high school. The District currently operates 47 schools (24 elementary/intermediate schools, 11 middle schools, 9 high schools, 2 K-8, and 1 alternative). In addition to these schools, the District operates other specialized learning centers and has multiple administrative and support facilities located throughout Berkeley County. In addition, construction of 3 schools to be completed within 3 years. The District strives to promote a high standard of excellence to create an atmosphere of partnership with the community and to ignite in every student a passion for excellent knowledge and skills through dynamic instructions and personalized educational opportunities. Providing healthy, sanitary, and safe environments to our students and staff is critical to the District's ability to meet this goal. PURPOSE: The District is seeking bids from highly qualified roofing contractors for the Sangaree Elementary School Roof Replacement project as outlined within this solicitation package. The specifications reference the replacement and repairs of Sangaree Elementary School roof and associated metal work. Alternate 1 2. Remove Roof Areas A and B from the scope. Alternate 2 3. Remove Roof Areas K and L from the scope.
