Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Columbus, Ohio. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.
This project involves the replacement of existing traffic signals at the intersections of Rich Street with 3rd Street, 4th Street, 5th Street, and Grant Avenue. The signals will be fully replaced including new poles and equipment. New fiber optic cable will be installed within the limits of each intersection to connect the signals to the existing Columbus Traffic Signal System (CTSS) network. Additional work includes the brick walk, drainage structure replacement, new signing and pavement markings, and other such work as may be necessary to complete the contract, as set forth in this Invitation For Bid (IFB). Only pre-qualified prime contractors are eligible to submit bids for this project. ODOT Pre-qualification status must be in force at the time of bid, at the time of award, and through the life of the construction contract. The "prime" contractor must perform no less than 50 percent of the total original price. In the event there are mutually exclusive alternates listed on the bid sheet, the bid bond shall include the maximum value of the highest alternate(s) which increases the Bid. The bid bond amount shall be equal to or exceed (10%) percent of this total amount. Note that if the bidder submits a bid bond, the amount of said bond shall be expressed either as a percentage of the total bid or numerically in dollars and cents. The DBE Goal for this project is 6%. The last day to submit questions is April 25, 2025; phone calls will not be accepted. Responses will be posted on website as an addendum. NOTICE TO PROCEED/CONTRACT COMPLETION The City anticipates issuing a notice to proceed on or about June 2, 2025. All work is to be complete by October 15, 2026. BID CANCELLATION AND REJECTION The City may cancel the IFB, reject any or all bids in whole or in part, waive technicalities, and/or advertise for new bids, without liability to the City and when in the best interest of the City. The City shall have 180 calendar days from the date of the bid opening to provide the bidder a Notice of Award. During this 180 period, the bidder agrees to hold their bid prices.
