Trent University invites proponents to submit proposals for a comprehensive rehabilitation strategy to replace the Faryon Bridge Deck. The comprehensive rehabilitation strategy would, in general, include the following work: Phase 1: Bridge Deck and Balustrades -Wholesale removal and reconstruction of bridge deck slab edges, including fabrication of galvanized steel guard replacements -Wholesale removal and reconstruction of balustrades, including fabrication of galvanized steel bracket replacements -Localized repair of deteriorated bridge deck concrete -Wholesale removal and reconstruction of sloped bridge deck topping -Wholesale removal and reconstruction of bridge deck expansion joints -The installation of PMMA traffic deck waterproofing coating on the bridge deck and elastomeric coating on balustrades -Remove, refurbish, and reinstate existing candy cane light posts Phase 2: Bridge Superstructure and Post Tensioning -Localized restoration of deteriorated areas on arches, piers, and foundations -Gas drying and resin impregnation of post-tensioned girder and arch tendons -Installation of galvanic anodes (cathodic protection) in areas of high corrosion potential -The application of lithium nitrate to delay the advancement of the ASR deterioration -Apply penetrating silane sealer and elastomeric waterproofing coating to beams, arches, piers, and deck soffit to limit the ingress of future moisture. Abutment Beams & Bearing Pads -Restoration of deteriorated concrete of abutment beams -Wholesale replacement of existing abutment beam bearing pads -Modification to the hydro duct bank through the abutment beams -Application of penetrating silane sealer and elastomeric waterproofing coating to beams Question Deadline 04/25/2025 at 4:00 PM ET Online Portal TIMELINE: Project has been cancelled.
