On March 11, 2025, Troy University hereby gives official notice that it will contract with Smith’s Inc. for HVAC AHU Mechanical Refurbishment at Malone Hall on the Troy University Troy, AL campus. The contract will conclude as soon as soon as all necessary services have been completed. The University awarded this contract without competitive bid in accordance with the Code of Alabama Section 39-2-2. Section 39-2-2 Letting of contracts without public advertisement authorized in case of emergencies affecting public health, safety, etc. In case of an emergency affecting public health, safety or convenience, as declared in writing by the awarding authority, setting forth the nature of the danger to the public health, safety, or convenience which would result from delay, contracts may be let to the extent necessary to meet the emergency without public advertisement. The action and the reasons for the action taken shall immediately be made public by the awarding authority upon request
