This project includes but is not limited to the following: The construction of a Ghost Kitchen venue located within the Dorothy Kelly Adams University Center, on Troy University's Troy Campus. The Owner intends to award asingle contract to a single contractor. The Owner will accept proposals only from pre-qualified firms which demonstrate their experience and ability to perform the work necessary forthis Project. Interested General Contractors must submit a Contractor's Qualification Statement showing minimum qualifications to be certified by prospective bidders to include but not limited to: 1) statutory licensure requirements, 2) proof, in the formof a letter from a licensed bonding agent, of current bonding capacity in excess of Four Hundred Thousand dollars, 3) minimum of 5 years in operation asa General Contractor under thesame company name 4) minimum annual volume of 1 million dollars in construction value foreach of the past three years andat least three (3) construction projects of a similar size and scope to this project completed during the last twenty-four (24)months and 5) Submit all prequalified information required to the Physical Plant office before the bid opening. Bids must be submitted on proposal form included in projectmanual. All bidders bidding inamounts exceeding that established by the State LicensingBoard for General Contractorsmust be licensed under theprovisions of Title 34, Chapter8, Code of Alabama, 1975, andmust show evidence of licensebefore bidding or bid will not bereceived or considered; the bidder shall show such evidenceby clearly displaying his or hercurrent license number on theoutside of the sealed envelopein which the proposal is delivered. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive technical errorsif, in the Owner's judgment, thebest interests of the Owner willthereby be promoted. A certified check or Bid Bondpayable to Troy University in anamount not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of thebid, but in no event more than$10,000.00 must accompanythe bidder's proposal. Biddersmust submit with the proposal aletter from an Insurance Carrierapproved by the State of Alabama as evidence of insurability. Performance Bond valuedat 100% of the contract amountand Payment Bond valued at50% of the contract amount willbe required at the signing of the Contract. The State of Alabama passednew legislation effective January1, 2012 known as the Beason Hammon Alabama Taxpayerand Citizen Protection Act, ActNo. 2011-535. This legislationrequires anyone receiving statemonies to verify that they arein compliance with the newimmigration law.
