Long Term Control Plan Sewer Separation Element 8.2, CSSA 009-01, Canal Street Storm Sewer Bids are invited upon the several items and quantities of work as follows: The Work generally includes the construction of approximately 4,166 lineal feet of 12-inch, 15-inch, 18-inch, 24- inch and 36-inch storm sewers; 30 inlets; 23 manholes; water system adjustments; and all related appurtenances, along the following segments within the central portion of the corporate limits of the City of Ottawa in LaSalle County: Canal Street, from West Superior to West Madison Streets, with six westward spurs of up to a block each along West Washington, LaFayette, Jefferson, Superior, and Jackson Streets, and an unnamed right-of-way between Jefferson and Madison Streets. . A certified check or bank draft, payable to the order of CITY OF OTTAWA, negotiable U.S. Government bonds (at par value) or a satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the Bidder and an acceptable surety in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total Bid shall be submitted with each Bid. This project is funded in whole or in part with grant funds from the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program. Attention is called to the fact that 1) not less than the Federal prevailing wages as set forth in the Contract Documents must be paid on this project; 2) The work to be performed under this contract is subject to the requirements of Section 3, 24 CFR Part 75; and 3) The Contractor must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, color, religion, sex, or national origin. The CITY OF OTTAWA reserves the right to reject any or all Bids or to waive any informalities in the bidding. Bids may be held by the CITY OF OTTAWA for a period not to exceed 30 days from the date of the opening of Bids for the purpose of reviewing the Bids and investigating the qualifications of Bidders, prior to awarding of the Contract. *The list of planholders and/or interested bidders is not being tracked by the stakeholders involved with this project.
