Site work and paving for a sidewalk / parking lot in Ottawa, Illinois. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.
Remove existing wood deck structure and replace with 75 L.F. cast-in-place concrete stoop walls and 643 S.F. reinforced top slab, along with 280 S.F. unreinforced concrete sidewalk, 36 S.F. cast-in-place concrete stairs, steel railings and associated appurtenances. Bidders are advised that this Contract will be subject to the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act and Illinois Steel Products Procurement Act. This project is subject to the Employment of Illinois Workers on Public Works Act. The City of Ottawa encourages minority business firms to submit Bids and the successful contract Bidder to use minority businesses as Subcontractors or suppliers, equipment, services, and construction. The Contractor shall conform to the requirements of a "Responsible Bidder" as defined by City of Ottawa Ordinance No. 062-2022. All Contractors and Subcontractors must register ($100.00 fee) annually to work in the City of Ottawa. Contractors must furnish a license and a $10,000 permit bond. The successful Bidder shall provide at least 40% of all labor required for the completion of this project. The Bid shall be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond, in the amount of five percent (5%) of the gross amount of the bid and be payable to the order of the City of Ottawa. Bids may be held by the City of Ottawa for a period not to exceed 60 days from the date of the opening of Bids for the purpose of reviewing the Bids and investigating the qualifications of Bidders, prior to awarding of the Contract. The Owner reserves the right to accept or reject any or all Bids and to waive any informalities in the bidding. Question Deadline 06/10/2025 Bidder shall submit all questions about the meaning or intent of the Bidding Documents to Engineer in writing LOCATION OF PROJECT DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT Project will be paid for as lump sum. STATUS OF UTILITIES TO BE ADJUSTED None anticipated. MISCELLANEOUS SAW-CUTTING This project is located at 321 West Main Street, Ottawa, Illinois, at the existing IVCC Ottawa Center building; the deck replacement is specifically located at the south entrance of the building. This project consists of removing the existing wood deck, constructing new concrete stoop walls, elevated slab and staircase, as well as new steel guardrail/handrail, adjacent concrete sidewalk and turf restoration.
