Renovation of a library in Bolivar, West Virginia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a library.
The whole roof of the building will be replaced and a new porch will begin at the entrance by the steps and extended to the 3 pane windows in the children's department of the Bolivar Harpers Ferry Public Library. Solar panels from the roof will need to be removed before replacing the roof. The contractor performing the job will need to be able to obtain a Bolivar license to pursue the project. The purpose of the project is to build a covered porch as well as replace the current library's roof. The porch will be from the entrance of the steps and extend out to the children's department windows. o These windows will be converted into windowpane doors to allow access during certain programs. o By those doors, will be an enlarged area to accommodate programs and functions. - The width along the run of the porch will be 10'. The width needs to accommodate space for people to move around. - Access to the porch will be off of the entrance stairs on one side and ADA compliance on the other end. (potentially). - To access the entrance by the stairs the one of the side rails will need to be removed (is this necessary) - This porch will have railings along the perimeter to ensure safety for the patrons. - This porch will be wired to provide outlets for patrons and possibly ceiling fans. - The roof along the building along with the roof on the porch should be a seamless match. o pitched porch roof The project needs to be completed by 12. 2026.
