The WORK includes, but is not limited to the following: Relocation/replacement of water mains, water services, water meters, water valves, shutdowns and cut-in connections, abandonment of existing facilities, related items of work, and cleanup of the project areas. The engineers estimated cost of construction for this project is between $2,900,000-$3,400,000. Response Types Line Items Type of Award Lump Sum The project must commence by the commencement date stated in the Notice to Proceed. The WORK must be completed within 150 Working Days from the Notice to Proceed. The AGENCY hereby affirmatively ensures that all business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this Notice and will not be discriminated against in any consideration leading to the award of contract. The Bid Must Be Accompanied by a Bid Guarantee in the Form of a Certified or Cashier's Check or Bidder's Bond, Made Payable to the Agency for an Amount No Less Than Ten Percent (10%) of the Total Bid Amount. Payment of prevailing wages pursuant to Labor Code Section 1770 et seq., is required on this project. The submission by the Contractor of certified payrolls or copies thereof, is required. Also, in accordance with the regulations of the United States Department of Labor and the California Department of Industrial Relations, each Contractor, or subcontractor shall preserve its weekly payroll records for a period of 3 years from the date of completion of this contract. Such payroll records shall be made available at all times for inspection by the City or its authorized representative. The Agency will deduct a five percent (5%) retention from all progress payments as specified in C9 - MEASUREMENT & PAYMENT. The contract will not be awarded to a Contractor who does not hold a valid Class "A" or Class C-34 (Pipeline) contractor's license in accordance with the provisions of the Business and Professions Code. The AGENCY reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any irregularity, and to take all bids under advisement for a period of sixty (60) calendar days from the date of Bid Opening as deemed in its best interest.
