The Water Treatment Plant (WTP) is secured by a 5-1/2 ft precast concrete architectural wall along the south property line that was installed in 1997. The wall separates the WTP from the neighboring community, Chasewood North, providing visual and noise buffer and to a limited extent, site security. The wall is approaching end of useful life and requires replacement. The proposed replacement includes a 12 foot tall concrete wall with a landscape buffer on Chasewood North's property, to further reduce visual and noise impacts from the WTP and enhance WTP site security. This project supports the Town's Strategic Plan Results of Fiscal Responsibility and Safety by managing timely renewal and replacement of WTP assets, promoting safety at the WTP site, and reducing nuisance noise and/or visual impacts to the neighboring community. The 12 foot tall wall will require site plan approval along with a variance for height. Chasewood North's HOA and residents have expressed interest in replacement of the wall to a taller height and addition of new landscaping. Due to the location of the wall with respect to the deep injection well construction, timing of this project cannot be expedited. The project is included in the City's 2026-2030 Capital Improvement Program (CIP).
