Heat Plant Electric Vehicle Charger Installation. Provide electrical panels, transformer, underground feeders and circuit protection and all ancillary equipment to supply: Four 80A dual port charging stations and two 80 kW 480V DC Fast charging stations. Also included is a telecom conduit and connection the local building MDF for communications to a local energy meter. In order to qualify for this grant substantial completion must be complete by November 1st 2025. See Drawings for EVITP installer requirements. Bidders may be required to submit qualifications with their bids as set forth in the Supplementary Instructions to Bidders. The successful Bidder will be required to have the following California current and active contractor's license at the time of submission of the Bid: A or B or C10. Estimated construction cost: $500,000. Scope of Work: 1. Construction of Heat Plant Electric Vehicle Charger Installation involves installing electric vehicle charging equipment as noted on the electrical plans and specifications. This includes adding two panel boards and a step down transformer all powered from an existing power distribution board near the project site. 2. The work to be done includes all labor, tools and equipment necessary to furnish and install all materials and equipment shown on the drawings and described herein and to perform tests described herein, to provide complete and operating systems to the extent specified and shown on the drawings. The Contractor shall furnish all equipment, material and supplies, except where specifically noted as existing or supplied by The University. General Description of Work: Heat Plant Electric Vehicle Charger Installation at the University of California Santa Cruz, provides for the installation of electric vehicle charging equipment as noted on the electrical plans and specifications. This includes adding two panel boards and a step down transformer all powered from an existing power distribution board near the project site. This work includes, but is not limited to, the following: 1. Site work including demolition, erosion control, tree protection, misc. grading. 2. Concrete demolition and concrete flatwork. 3. Miscellaneous metal flashing, metal accessories and attachments. 4. Testing and commissioning of complete installed equipment and systems. 5. Special care shall be given to utility shutdowns of and tie-ins to existing campus utilities. Impact to the campus operations must be minimized. 6. Special care shall be taken with respect to existing grades and the preservation of existing trees. Measures consistent with such considerations will be required during construction. 7. Overall site coordination with adjacent facilities. Continued operations in adjacent facilities are required throughout all phases of construction. 8. The project shall comply with all electric vehicle infrastructure training program (EVITP) requirements listed in ab 841. (for EVITP details, reference section 4, bill text - ab-841 energy: transportation electrification: energy efficiency programs: school energy efficiency stimulus program). 25% of all electricians working on this installation must hold an electric vehicle infrastructure training program (EVITP) certification. A minimum one electrician with the EVITP certification is required. 9. The Contractor shall obtain any required certifications or installer qualifications imposed by the charger manufacturer in order to activate the charger equipment and hand it over to the manufacturer for continuing operations, maintenance and billing. It shall be the burden of the contractor to investigate these requirements in advance of submitting their bid. The contractor shall be responsible for all costs, actions and time impacts required as a result of obtaining this certification or qualification. .
